Lichfield return to league action on Saturday as they host Pershore Town, hoping to build on last weekends impressive win at Studley and learn lessons from the 5-0 midweek defeat at Hednesford Town in the Staffs Senior Cup.
Jamie Hawkins takes charge of his first game at the McDonalds Community Stadium against an opponent that has been steadily climbing the table since a poor start to the season. With a heavy 5-0 defeat at the hands of in-form Racing Club Warwick as the anomaly, Town are currently in a solid run of just 1 defeat in 6 league games. Attacking threat is likely to be provided by Charlie Ntamark and former Bromsgrove Sporting youngster Alfie Bloomer, while Pershore can also call on the services of former City attacking midfielder Ollie Manoochehri as they look to continue their good form. Lichfield came away from the reverse fixture with a solid 4-1 win back in October, with a goal apiece for Charlie Jones, Jordan Hunt, Jordan Evans and Tom Green seeing City home despite a David Wilson screamer for the home side.
A victory for City would see us keep up the pressure on Heather St Johns, who sit directly above us in 9th place, aswell as keeping a healthy gap between us and 11th placed Paget Rangers who we welcome to the McDondalds Community Stadium in a couple of weeks time.
As ever, we'd really appreciate your support. Come along, cheer on the lads and join us for a beer in the club afterwards. See you all there!
