Andover F.C played host to the recent rural schools girls tournament which saw three very excited teams of year 5 and 6 girls from Grateley, Kimpton and Clatford Primary Schools taking to the pitch in a bid to win the title.
Supported by Sports Unlimited and organised by the Simplyhealth sponsored Lions in the Community team, each of the schools played each other twice on a smaller scale version of the Portway Stadium pitch. After an initial settling period the teams soon got into their stride and whilst Clatford proved strong from the outset, both Kimpton and Grateley’s play improved significantly throughout the tournament with some excellent skill on show from all the teams involved.
After each school had played their four matches , community coach Dean Stow presented medals and the trophy to the tournament victors Clatford C of E Primary School. Congratulations to all involved on a great display of football!
