“4 rugby players who started their careers with Liskeard-Looe rugby club played a huge part in Cornwall's winning team over Gloucestershire on Saturday 5th May. Sam Hocking, now with Plymouth Albion, scored one try and had another disallowed for a forward pass. Bryn Jenkins, now with Cambridge rugby club dominated in the line-out and all 4 were part of the Cornwall scrum which pushed Gloucestershire backwards on several ocassions. Brothers Mike and Tom Rawlings, who both played this season with the Cornish All-Blacks, played in the back row with Hocking and were all over the Redruth pitch. One of the breaks made by the Rawlings boys led to Cornwall's first try. Cornwall's next matches in the Bill Beaumont County Championship are Saturday 12th May away to Hertfordshire and Sat 19th May home (Camborne 3.00 p.m.) to North Midlands. Win's in both those matches would mean a trip to Twickenham for the final (on the 27th May) for these 4 young men - not bad for 4 players from South East Cornwall!
