JUST GR-EIGHT!

JUST GR-EIGHT!

Simon Jasinski9 Mar 2025 - 08:54

Chris Allcock's reserves chalked up consecutive victories with a comfortable 8-0 triumph over Colden Common at a sunny Newman Collard.

The Blues included eight different scorers to boot, following up their 6-0 success seven days prior against Liphook United.

Alfie McWilliams got Liss off to the perfect start with just two minutes on the clock, rifling home from a through ball; before Charlie Grover's corner took a deflection to beat the goalkeeper for two.

Max Butler (pictured) raced on to slot home for three, with Alfie Locke's diving header nestling into the corner a fourth before half time, from Joe Waine's pin-point cross from the right.

Theo Glazier came off the bench to add a fifth with a driven effort, with Charlie Cains tapping home Alfie McWilliam's cut back into an unguarded net.

Jack Butler was upended inside the box and stepped-up to score a seventh, before Charlie Grover's well-hit free kick found the roof of the net to round off a fantastic afternoon with number eight.

With three to go, the Reserves have matched last season's wins (6) and goals scored tally, with on-field performances again showing year-on-year progression amongst the group.

The Reserves are on the road on Wednesday evening (March 12) at Midhurst & Easebourne in the Hampshire Combination League Cup quarter-final (7.45pm).

The winners will face Petersfield Town in the semi-finals at Love Lane on Tuesday, March 18. Meanwhile the first team are back in action on Saturday when they welcome Paulsgrove to Newman Collard (2pm).
