Littlehampton Town return to the Sportsfield this week with back-to-back home fixtures in the Pitching In Isthmian Football League South East Division. First, we welcome Merstham on Saturday, followed by a Tuesday night clash with Sittingbourne, as the Golds look to put recent results behind them.
Last time out at the Sportsfield, the Golds delivered a thrilling comeback performance, reversing a 2-0 deficit to defeat Three Bridges 4-3 in an unforgettable encounter. Goals from Rob O'Toole, Joe Benn and a Jordan Layton penalty sealed the three points in front of a delighted home crowd.
However, our results on the road have been unlucky. A midweek trip to Kent saw us face Ashford United, where an early brace from Marcel Powell gave us a 2-0 lead. Despite our strong start, Ashford fought back, and we fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat. Just four days later, we made another long journey to take on Deal Town. After a goalless first half, the home side edged ahead, and while we battled to equalize, a 96th-minute strike from Deal sealed a 3-1 loss.
Now, the focus shifts back to the Sportsfield and two crucial games against tough opposition. Merstham will provide a stern test on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm. Following that, Sittingbourne visit on Tuesday evening, a 7:45pm start under the lights, promising another exciting night of action.
Tickets for both games are priced at £10 for Adults, £5 for Concessions, and just £2 for Under 16s. Payments can be made by card or cash at the turnstiles. Free parking is available around the ground—use postcode BN17 6BD for your sat nav.
Programmes are not printed anymore, but a joint edition for both games can be downloaded below.
