1. About Us

Littletown CC are a freshly re-formed cricket club based in the small village of Littletown, County Durham. Situated behind the old village chapel, our picturesque ground is perfect for a relaxing day or evening of local cricket. We are a highly community orientated, friendly, sociable cricket club. All faces new and old are welcome down at our ground to play, support, spectate or volunteer.

In 2006, Littletown Cricket Club folded due to dwindling funding and an ageing side. Read the story of the club's demise here

However, in an inspiring sequence of events, a group of committed and dedicated enthusiasts embarked upon rejuvenating a cricket club in 2012.

In December 2012 we were duly accepted into the North East Durham Cricket League for which we will be forever thankful. Hard work throughout the winter months and pre-season followed and the ground was restored to its former beauty. Cricket was played again at the ‘Village Ground’ in the 2013 season for the first time in 7 years.

2013 & 2014 were extremely successful season for the club as a whole and by the time the curtain fell on the 2014 season we had 4 senior teams, 1 junior side and over 70 club members. We wanted to ensure the club development carried on at pace and progress to move further up the cricket pyramid in the North East by applying to the Readers Durham Cricket League to play in 2015.

In 2015, we entered in the Readers Durham Cricket League Division 2, having had our application for promotion from the North East Durham Cricket League accepted.

Our 3rd XI continue to play on Sunday afternoons in the Hetton Lyons Sunday Cricket League whilst a midweek team plays in the DCL midweek 3s competition

Our Junior Academy has been formed and continues to grow with the club fielding U11 and U13 teams in 2015. The club boasts an ECB Level 3 Coach as well as a team of other dedicated and qualified ECB coaches who ensure that the next generation of Littletown cricketers ensure the best quality of coaching. We have enough talented juniors to enter a Sunday Academy to side to play in the Hetton Lyons Sunday Cricket League alongside the existing 3rd XI

The club itself has very ambitious plans to develop and are committed to building the foundations of a club that will be around for a further 100 years. We are a not for profit club and organisation and any money we raise is put back into Littletown CC for the benefit of its members and members of the local community, of which all ages are welcome.

Our Development Plan has been prepared alongside our extensive constitution and can be viewed by request of the clubs committee. The facilities at the ground are constantly improving and we now boast: portable nets, permanent outdoor net system, sightscreens, roll on covers and a state of the art, Flicx pitch.

The club welcomes new members at all times. If you are interested in becoming a playing or social member of Littletown CC then please contact littletowncc@outlook.com or alternatively find us on Twitter - @littletowncc – or Facebook.
