At the third time of trying Deiniol finally lands his man!
Many of you will remember Iwan at the club around 18 months ago when he was signed by Grant Montgomery and James Cornish in the new year of 2011 and was an instant success at the club. He brought vast amounts of energy, experience and goals to the side and looked to be the final piece in the jigsaw.
The 27 year-old returns to Maesdu with a wealth of Cymru Alliance League experience, having played last season with league champions GAP Connah’s Quay up until the January transfer window before returning to Porthmadog for his fourth spell with the club. After starting his career with Porthmadog in the Welsh Premier, Iwan left for a spell with Newtown before returning to Y Traeth. He then went on to play for Llanfairpwll in the 2009/10 season, scoring 20 goals for them.
Iwan said earlier today that he was thrilled to be back at the club and couldn't wait to get playing with the lads again. He said he would be hoping to make the same impact as he had done last time!
Speaking to some of the rest of the team tonight the feeling is very much mutual and Iwan's signing along with recent additions Andy Metcalf and Danny Jarrett show the club is intent on turning around the early season disappointment.
Deiniol said tonight he was delighted to have signed Iwan as he was such a big part of the team and dressing room the first time around and that Iwan, Danny and Andy were only the start!
Sounds interesting!
Everyone at Llandudno would like to welcome Iwan back to the club and hope he can be influential in helping the team rise up the table!
