The club are delighted to announce the signing of Will Ashley from Gresford. The 22 year old returns to the club after two seasons in the Cymru Alliance with Ruthin. Ryan Harden said
‘Will is a player I know well having played for Llandyrnog when I first joined and obviously I watch Ruthin whenever I can so I got to see a lot of him last season when he was a regular. He played mainly at centre half where he was excellent but is very comfortable on the ball and could easily figure for us in a midfield role. We are on the floor a bit in terms of numbers having lost lads and so many out injured so this is a massive boost for everyone at the club. Unfortunately he is unavailable this weekend but we look forward to getting him playing as soon as possible’.
Welcome back to the club Will from all at Llandyrnog.
Also signing is defender Adam Jones. The former Burnley trainee who also played for Rhyl and Denbigh has had a few years away from the game as he set up his own personal training business on St Asaph. Harden said ‘I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to get Adam out of retirement ever since I went into management and I’m happy he’s finally given in. He’s still only 32 and obviously a very fit lad so we have no worries on that front. He was the best left back I played with so I’m looking forward to seeing how much of that ability remains. Adam will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s match at Prestatyn Sports’.
