Penparcau 0-0 (3-1 Pens) Llanfair United
After a disappointing 1-0 loss midweek at Llanrhaeadr, the first team were determined to bounce back in a tricky away Welsh Cup tie at Penparcau.
The game was a close affair throughout ninety minutes but neither side could find the net. Llanfair were reduced to 10 when Toby Roberts was shown a red card in the 85th minute.
The penalty shootout started well. Stand in goalkeeper Jack Roberts saved the first penalty however Llanfair missed 3 themselves and Penparcau progressed with a 3-1 penalty shootout win.
Trefonen 5-1 Reserves
The Reserves kicked off their season and a return to the Montgomeryshire League away at Trefonen.
Our young side started well but went 1-0 down after 8 minutes, K Matthews with Trefonen's opening goal.
Llanfair reacted really well though and were level on 24 minutes through substitute Sean Roberts, scoring on his debut.
However, unfortunately for Llanfair, the home side took the lead only two minutes later and were 3-1 by the half time break via J Morris and J Owen goals.
In the 2nd half, Trefonen extended their lead via a R Morris penalty on 63 minutes and sealed the win on 85 minutes through J Lowe.
Still very early days for our squad with a host of new faces signing and only two pre season friendlies under their belts.
