A hopeful day turned to dispear as Llan spirits dampened as the rain fell in Mochdre.

The Llan team travelled up the North Wales coast to face one of the form teams so far this year with the aim of extending their 100% start to the season. And having won the toss Skipper Nick Austin chose to bat on a good looking track. The Llan openers got to work in steady fashion building a partnership, when the first wicket fell a fullish ball trapping opener Jenkins LBW. A harsh blow considering Jenkins form this season, still no reason to panic for the travellers as they still had a healthy middle order to pick up the mantle.
Unfortunatly the Llan batsmen couldn't get a grip on the game and lost wickets on a regular basis. And with a young lower order the lowest score of the season was registered 42 for 9 inside 15 overs.
A quite dressing room at the break summed up the performance, but determined not to go down without a fight the Llan team took to the field focused on making it difficult for the home team to knock off the runs.
So the Llan bowlers set to their tasks and quickly found some pace and bounce to trouble the opposition a few plays and misses and the odd streaky edge over the slip/gully region. But sure enough they got their reward Craig boyle removing the Mochdre skipper trapped by a full straight one. And it wasn't long before the second wicket fell Boyle again the architect knocking back the off stump of the Mochdre No 3.
A decent performance in the field however couldn't mask the failings with the bat and the Mochdre finished off the contest claiming a 9-1 victory.
