Once again player availability was a massive problem for Llanrwst as the 1st team traveled to Bethedsa for their league one encounter with only NINE players! Having lost the toss Llanrwst took to the field and despite a spirited bowling and fielding fielding performance the gaps in the field was obvious as the hosts cruised to 248 for 5 with opener Carwyn "cookie" Williams playing a majestic innings to finish unbeaten on 111. Opening bowler Lee Thomas (2 wickets for 37 off 12 overs ) and spinner Alwyn WIlliams (3 for 50 off 12) were the only wicket takers for the Rwsters.
Llanrwst started well in reply with Trefor WIlliams blasting 4 early boundaries before being dismissed for 20. Farther and Son Aled and Aron Hughes shared a 63 run partnership for the 3rd wicket until Aron was dismissed for 24. Skipper Aled was the last man to be dismissed as he holed out to mid on to finish with a top score of 43 and Alwyn finishing 11 not out.
Rwsters were bowled out for 125 resulting in a 123 run defeat and failed to pick up any points in a 15-0 loss.
Next week sees the first home game of the season (weather permitting) as the first team welcome Llay Welfare to Gwydir Park.
