Llanrwst 1st team recorded a comfortable 8 wicket victory over local rivals Conwy at Gwydir park, chasing down a target of 110 for the loss of just 2 wickets.
Having won the toss and electing to bat first, Conwy were dismissed for 109 in the 47th over with Spinner Alwyn Williams the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wickets for 11 runs off 11 overs. There were also wickets for Jack Hughes (2 for 27), Trefor Williams (2 for 18), Scott Thomas (1 for 29) and Huw Williams (1 for 0 from 1 ball! ). Catches were taken by Jack Hughes, Aled Hughes and Aron Hughes, who also took a stumping.
In reply the Rwsters lost Trefor (7) early on with the score on 19, and later Nathan Jones was run out for 20 with the score on 66.
Skipper Aled Hughes and Son Aron shared an unbeaten partnership to see the side home with Aron Finishing unbeaten with an impressive 56 not out and Aled 17 not out.
Llanrwst won by 8 wickets claiming a 14-1 points victory.
