About the Club

South West London Chargers RLFC was formed on the 17th January 2013. The club was formed by organisers and players of two of London’s premier amateur rugby league teams, South London Storm and West London Sharks. Both of these clubs were thinking of a move more central to London and close to a main transport hub. Both clubs settled on the area of Clapham Common, the organisers of both clubs along with the players agreed that it would be a mutual benefit to both clubs if the clubs combined and were based on Clapham Common. The mixture of the organisers and players from both clubs has turned out to be a perfect fit.

In 2013 the club won the treble - 2013 London Cup, 2013 London Premier League, and 2013 Harry Jepson Trophy. In addition our London League & Ladies teams made their respective grand finals but both went down in close games.

In 2014 the club made the 2nd round of the Challenge Cup, won the 2014 Brighton 9's, 2014 London Cup finalists, 2014 London Premier League (undefeated), and 2014 Harry Jepson Trophy. In addition our Ladies team won their league undefeated and the London Division 1 team lost their grand final, and won the 2014 London Shield Final. Also in 2014 the club ran a 3rd men's teams for the first time.

Looking towards 2015 the club has once again secured a Challenge Cup place and will be entering 2 mens teams in the London competitions and a Ladies team in the Southern competition.

The club is based on Clapham Common training their Tuesday and Thursday nights. In 2014 home games were played at Old Blues RFC in Motspur Park. For player, Coaching, or Staff information please contact the club on swlchargersrl@gmail.com
