I’m going to keep this one sweet and short, in part because I’m German and very efficient, but also due to controversies I caused previously with my Bromley and Beckenham match report (I had made some comments related to poor facilities which upset their team).
Weather: Weirdly muggy and warm, but also very cloudy. There may have even been a drop of rain or two.
Team: Full of confidence, expertise and good looks.
Goals: 3 for the royals in total, but I can only really remember 2 now. The first one was within 1 or 2 minutes of play from Fede with a lovely strike from the top of the D. I think the oppo was a) still asleep and b) upset generally about how good Fede is. The second goal was from Sam with a lovely deflection.
MVP: Fede – Pretty much unanimous I believe. He had a pretty good game all round, scored a goal and distributed the ball well in the midfield. Well-deserved overall.
Diva: Me – Apparently, I was solely to blame for the one goal we conceded. Not sure why as I’m pretty sure the breakdown happened upfront, with a quick turnover that led to a junior Waltham Forest player picking up the ball and scoring a very cheeky “flick-over-the-goalie” goal. Whatever.
Executive Summary: 5 out of 5 games won. Hoping to make it 6 next weekend.
