Rugby is a game that helps children understand England and Longton Rugby’s Core Values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Click Here to view the definitions of the Core Values of TREDS. Everyone involved in rugby in England, whether as a player, coach, referee, administrator, parent or spectator is encouraged to uphold the Core Values of our sport.
We offer all children aged from 4 years, free taster training sessions starting at any time during our season which runs from early August to late May.
We are extremely proud to have been recognised by the RFU and awarded RFU Whole Club Accreditation and Sport England Clubmark, and we have strong policies in place for Child Protection and Safety, all of which can be viewed by going to the Safeguarding section from the Information menu Click to go to page
We currently have around 300 children, of various ability levels, and new faces are always welcome at our extensive Trentham Fields location. The section is supported by a strong coaching and committee set-up, but as we develop and grow, we always welcome new volunteers. All our volunteers are DBS checked and receive appropriate training and help to undertake their roles.
We also align ourselves with Rugby Safe which the is RFU’s overarching player safety and wellbeing programme to support clubs, schools, colleges, universities and participants at all levels of the game. Again follow the Safeguarding link for more details.
