Blues striker agrees 'long term contract' with club

"We’re delighted Jake has committed to the club"
- Lowestoft Town FC assistant manager Andy Reynolds
Management at Lowestoft Town FC have expressed delight after talismanic striker Jake Reed agreed a new deal to stay with the club.
With it being confirmed this week that Lowestoft will remain in the Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central League for the 2021/22 campaign, there have been a number of boosts for The Blues recently.
Six players - club captain and fans favourite Travis Cole, goalkeeper Luis Tibbles, defenders Dylan Ruffles, Jack Wilkinson and Owen Murphy, and midfielder Louis McIntosh - have all agreed new contracts to return as part of Jamie Godbold’s squad for the new season.
And they will now be joined by another key recruit after a major boost was sealed - as fans favourite Jake Reed signed a “long term contract.”
The long term deal to keep sharp shooting Reed at the club is a significant coup for The Trawlerboys.
First team assistant manager Andy Reynolds said: “We’re delighted Jake has committed to the club.
“Players of Reedy’s level that live a stones throw from the stadium don’t come around often, so keeping him here is important for us and for what we want a Lowestoft team to be about.
“No doubt its one all of our supporters will be delighted about and someone who they want come back through the gates to see firing on all cylinders.
“I can’t wait for that either!”
An equally delighted Jake Reed said: “I am pleased to sign the new contract and I’m really looking forward to the new campaign.
“I’ve been here so long now, and have a great bond with the chairman, management, players and the brilliant fans.
"The last couple of seasons have been tough, amid the pandemic, and I've also suffered lots of niggles here and there that have taken time to heal.
“It was a tough decision but I’m fully fit now, back in the gym and I can’t wait to get firing back on the pitch again.
“The aim is to finish as high up the league as possible, to play well, keep our consistency up and hopefully I can get 20-plus goals - that will be the target.
"I'm 30 now, but still in my prime and can't wait to contribute."
