When the Ladies team cannot train what do they do?

When the Ladies team cannot train what do they do?

Hannah Faulds2 Apr 2020 - 11:50

With all Rugby activities suspended many have found themselves with little to do. Not to be disheartened the ladies team found another way.

The Ladies section at Lutterworth RFC is thriving not just in the numbers with over 50 members, but also in team commitment, motivation and spirit. ‘Passing the ball’ between team-mates has become the trend on social media during this lockdown and frustrated to not be together with social interaction taken away the team set out to do something a little different with our version. There are many front-line workers within the team and the wider Lutterworth RFC community so the fun video was about capturing the spirit and essence of our community club and to also give thanks to them.

It can be hard to get all the team in one room at the same time so gathering online videos over a short time frame might seem a bit of a momentous task. Not for Lutts ladies! The tenacity of the team in full force, led and produced by Laura (Budge), the result was a video uploaded to our club Facebook pages that was viewed by over 26,000, shared by 200+ and liked by many more. The interest was such that it became a feature in the Coventry telegraph and following a little call to Radio Leicester a news feature and interview with our Co-captain Jenny.

It is amazing how the video has captured so many with the strong message of team unity and really goes someway to showing just how much of a family the Rugby community is.
