SLM Blues are delighted to announce the key dates for the start of the 22/23 season as they prepare for the biggest training programme ever delivered for the section.
Reflecting on a successful 2021/2022 season, which saw some great team and individual performances, the coaching team have plans in place to build on the momentum created and deliver another full programme of challenging training and fixtures, both competitive and friendly running between August 2022 and May 2023.
Save the date
The first training session will take place on Saturday 20th August between 9:30 and 11:00am at Station Park, St Andrews. New players across all age groups are invited to attend this session which will include a briefing straight after training on the set up for SLM Blues and details of the season ahead, aimed principally at new players and parents but open to all.

New players are always welcome across every age group and in recent years large numbers have joined at S1 where boys are encouraged to attend on Tuesdays after school at 4pm where they will be met by the Community Rugby Development Officer, Dylan Suttie ahead of training.
Training takes place at the following times during the season:
Tuesdays (1630 – 1730):
Madras College: U13 (S1) & U14 (S2)
St Leonards: U15 (S3), U16 (S4), U18 (S5/S6)
Thursdays (1630 – 1730):
Madras College: U15 (S3), U16 (S4), U18 (S5/S6)
St Leonards: U13 (S1) & U14 (S2)
Matches are played on Saturday mornings during the season with the teams playing in the Midlands Group of the InspireSports West/Midlands Schools Conference.
SLM Blues is a unique partnership between Madras Rugby Club, St Leonard’s School, Scottish Rugby and the University of St Andrews. The aim of SLM Blues is to help each individual to be the best rugby player they can be, but also to set players up for success in the future - both in rugby and in life.
