Maldon & Tiptree Football Club are devastated to announce the loss of one of our long-standing volunteers, Dave Garwood after illness.

Dave was one of the volunteers we were fortunate enough to inherit from Tiptree, when Tiptree United amalgamated with Maldon Town, back in 2010.

Over the years, Dave travelled to both home and away games, often being part of a small handful of club representatives on match days. Dave contributed countless hours to both football clubs, whether it was operating the turnstiles, greeting opposition in the boardroom, tidying the stadium after a match or producing match reports, he was always on hand to help and will be a big loss to the football club.

Speaking following the news, Vice Chairman Roger Stapleton said “Dave’s passing is an extremely sad one for everyone involved at the club. He has been a huge supporter for a number of years and was always on hand to help out, wherever required. He will be missed by us all and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
