At a loose end on Saturday? Then why not head down to The Arriva Stadium and take in The Spotmix Recycling Trophy match between Sefton Veterans F.C. and Chartham Real Stars from Kent.
The match kicks off at 2pm and is sure to be a highly skilled and competitive game between two sides featuring players over 35 years old.
Sefton Veterans Football club was founded during the close season in 2011.
The majority of its members are former long standing players and members of Waterloo Grammar School Old Boys Football Club who decided that in order to continue with the ethos of "competitive friendly football for Over 35's" there was a need to establish a progressive and forward looking football club.
The club competes on the North West Veterans Circuit and are well known for playing attractive football and good spirit and fine hospitality.
Their first season has seen them play 27 regular season games, winning 16,drawing 8 and losing only 3. They have scored 95 goals and conceded 44.
Chartham Real Stars hail from Kent and feature non other than our first team shirt sponsor Dave Thompson who for the second time this week is stepping out on to the Arriva pitch.
Entrance is free, though a donation to the Floodlight Appeal would be most welcome. Hope to see you on Saturday!
