The clubs new regime outlined this intention at the recent AGM and have worked hard with all the stakeholders over the past few months to put the final pieces in place to provide the next step in the ladies journey.
A key element of this was finding a sponsor to enable the team to enjoy all the superb kit, equipment and facilities that the men's team enjoy without having to pay a fee to play. "This was absolutely the cornerstone of our plan and promotes equality within our club" states Chairman Matthew Allen.

The existing Market Drayton Tigers Ladies staff and players will transition across to the Town setup enabling the team to play on the main floodlit pitch and enter the Womens FA Cup for the first time this coming season, ultimately providing a new opportunity level for every girl in Market Drayton that enjoys and wants to play football.

"We are thrilled to be starting a new era with Market Drayton Town Football Club this coming season. After starting the team at U12's and continuing to 2023/24 as an adult team we are looking forward to progressing from the Tigers setup to MDTFC's first ever ladies team. The women's game has grown tremendously in the years we have coached this team and we are all excited to see what the future holds for us, the team, and the club here at Market Drayton" Dave Sherwin

The team will play in the Shropshire FA Women's Premier League on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm on the main pitch so please come down and support them when you can.
