Hebburn Sports Club 4 - 0 Marsden CW

Following a 4 week break Marsden travelled to Hebburn Sports Club to face a young side who had been doing well recently in both the league and cup. After some players left the club, injuries and work commitments, Marsden called up a number of their old guard to pull together a 15 man squad for the game.

I'm not even going to go into a match report, except to say that things looked bleak at Marsden fell behind after 38 seconds but the lads stuck together and it was an unbelievable team effort throughout. Nobody got on each others backs and the old legs on show ran themselves into the ground alongside Jude, Zac and Sam who were the only players below the age of 37 on show.

Hebburn ran out 4-0 winners but Graeme Wilkinson almost brought Marsden back into the game whilst it was just 2-0 before the break, but his effort was well saved. Kev Garrick made some excellent saves and MOM James Nipper was brilliant at the heart of defence.

I can't praise the lads enough for this morning and the last game of the season comes straight around next Sunday, away to The Vets at Harton Welfare.
