Whether you are a former player, family of a junior or senior player or simply an enthusiastic follower we urge you to become a Vice President and better still get someone to sign up with you. The mix of ages, often three generations from one family, to play, watch and socialise around rugby is one of the elements that makes the sport great and for this to continue we need to spread the membership net as widely as possible. Vice Presidents are vital to the continued success of Matlock Rugby Club for two reasons, at the very least.

Firstly, to help maintain the history of our club and the traditional values of rugby, a sport that has seen great change over recent years and will certainly continue to progress nationally and at Matlock Rugby Club.

Secondly, despite being an amateur club running costs rise year on year and whilst every penny of profit goes back into the running of the club greater financial resources are required to maintain and develop both the playing side and facilities. Vice Presidents funds make up a significant contribution but more VP members will help further.

Apart from the knowing that you are helping an club that has, and possibly still is, giving enjoyment to you and those close to you there are two main benefits to being a V.P.

Firstly, the two highly popular free lunches provided for all Vice Presidents which this season are being held on October 17th (v Derby) and on March 6th 2010 (v Leighton Buzzard).

Secondly, Vice Presidents are entitled to apply for International match tickets allocated to the club by the RFU through Alan Johnson who can be contacted via his email address (ajohnson07748@googlemail.com).

We believe Matlock Rugby Club is a great organisation and by becoming a Vice President you will help to enable the clubs success for future generations in the Derbyshire Dales.
