Great effort by all teams

Under 9’s
The U9s played against Leek at home. It was a very competitive game with a few large big runners on the Leek team causing occasional mayhem for Matlock.
Despite the height and weight advantage Leek found it hard against our determined tackling. Overall probably honours even or a slight Matlock win, but more importantly a good game played in the right spirit.
Also an immaculate 1min silence from all at Cromford ?

Under 10’s
u10s turned up to play the kind of rugby some of our more senior players would be proud of. Support play, recycling the ball, movement and silky runs as well as communication and organisation in defence led to our gang just playing in another league today, couldn't be prouder x leeke were great opposition and it's always a great fixture!

Under 11’s
U11'S Welcomed Leek to the meadows this morning. And with the managers words about last week's defensive issues still ringing in their ears, Matlock took the game to their opponents. With big improvements in the tackle and breakdown having a telling impact on trys conceded with only the one crossing our line all game. Final score.
Matlock 29 - 1 Leek

Under 14’s
U14s played away at Mellish. Although they played their best rugby of their season so far, and several times got to the edge with the chance to score, poor execution or decision-making prevented them from doing so, while Mellish used their strong and fast runners to score, taking all their chances.
Final result 35-7 to Mellish.

Under 15’s
U15s played their latest NLD match away at Derby. After conceding a try early on in the match, the lads fought back well to gain a lead that they never relinquished; scoring trys through both forwards and backs moves, including an excellent scissors offload to send our full back in under the posts.
Particularly pleasing was the way they worked to reclaim control of the game whenever Derby threatened a comeback, including a determined 15 minute spell of defence in their own 22 in the second half where they held the ball up over the line and won some pressure-relieving penalties with their work at the breakdown.
Final score Derby 17 - 36 Matlock.
After enjoying the victory we will turn our attention to a very tough away fixture against reigning NLD champions Ilkeston next Sunday.
