Under 9’s
U9s wrapped up their Christmas present of a match with some committed running and tackling. Some lovely spells of rugby (if we ever put together a full game of it, then heaven help the opposition!)

Under 10’s
17 u10 matlock players arrived early and were committed from the off. Warming up with commitment and intensity with positivity and pride. Ashfield provided great, strong, determined opposition and everyone enjoyed the games. Played with smiles and intelligence both! X happy Christmas x

Under 11’s
U11'S last game before the Christmas break saw us welcome Ashfield. In what turned out to be a one side affair with Matlock running in 25 tries to Ashfields 5. Some of the highlights came in the form of some excellent tackles and work at the breakdown.The only blip was a 15 minute spell in the middle of the match where Ashfield got into their stride,crossing our line four times. Under 14’s
U14s played a home game against Tigers. The best performance from our boys to date this season meant a tightly fought contest. All blue boys did us proud, and a great end to 2024.

Under 15’s
A dominant win from the U15s away at Chesterfield in blustery conditions. Great defence and attack, with everybody playing their part in a strong team performance. Final score 48-0 to Matlock and a brilliant way to head into the Christmas break!?

Under 16’s
U16s home win 33 v 12 against Sheffield Tigers
Just a wonderful game to be part of;a very capable Tigers side started with intent, with excellent handling but found it extremely difficult to break the Matlock’s line. Direct running, determined support and keeping errors to a minimum kept the score board ticking forward. A great finish to 2024 and looking to be a sound platform for some tough games in the new year.

GIRLS
U14 & U16 girls went to Paviors today and bagged a double heading win.

U16 gave a display of champagne rugby to get us all ready for the festive season. Utilising their superior pace and handling skills the girls were offloading from all angles and stretching a Paviors team that couldn’t live with the speed of the game.
From 20 mins onwards there was only 1 winner as they ran in 10 tries and won 64-24

U14 had a much tighter game but after a tough season so far claimed their first win. Playing to their strengths they played a fast game, spreading it wide at every opportunity.
