NEW FACILITIES MELKSHAM TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB
As many of you will have seen in the local press, Planning Permission has been submitted for the new ‘Home of Football’ in Melksham. The main vehicular access to the site will be off of Thyme Road, between the housing developments of Barratt & David Wilson, however there will be pedestrian access via Melksham Oak School to the right of the astrofturf. It needs to be emphasised that until planning is approved nothing is written in stone, but the club sees this a major step forward in achieving our goals.
The proposed facility incorporates:
12 pitches - 2 full size floodlit, 10 Youth pitches
A two storey category F Stadium - with tiered seating for a minimum 108 spectators, 6 team changing rooms, 4 officials changing rooms, reception office, two administrative offices, boardroom, separate club bar and
function room, kitchen, separate food servery, kit storage areas and a large first floor terrace area.
153 tarmac car parking spaces and additional overflow parking.
See Plans and Elevation drawings below.
A full set of plans will be placed on the club website to view shortly.
It is our intention that the facility will operate beyond the scope of just a Football Club, but also as a Community Centre, offering the function room and other facilities for organised events such as Parties, Weddings, Dance/Fitness classes, Summer camps, Tournaments, Corporate events, Clubs and Game nights. Televised Premier League and International games will be shown as well as other national sports events.
The success of the facility and indeed the Football Club, will rely heavily on the support of the players, parents, supporters & sponsors. If you have any suggestions/ideas or proposals you would like to suggest please speak to:
