Menai Bridge Tigers FC are pleased to announce an agreement with Prifysgol Bangor University, allowing our senior team to play all home matches at Treborth Playing Fields from the 2020-2021 season.

Following the FAW pyramid review and resulting ground criteria changes, it has become clear that the Club cannot progress without moving away from the Recreation Ground in Menai Bridge, due to the size of the pitch and lack of available space surrounding it.

While it is a difficult decision to move, it is necessary to ensure the future of the senior side. We have an ambitious management team in Aaron Rowlands & Karl Roberts, and those ambitions need a home ground to match. Treborth’s recently upgraded facilities are the best in the area, and should allow the Tigers to satisfy the ground criteria for Tier 4 and above.

The library field has been the senior team’s home since re-forming in 2009; however the Tigers sides of the ‘70s and ‘80s played at Treborth, so the short journey over the bridge next season could be considered a homecoming.

The Recreation Ground will continue to be used by the Club’s junior sides, particularly our Under 11s who will be making the step up to Under 12s and 11-a-side football next season.

The Club's long-term aim remains unchanged; to secure a purpose-built facility within Menai Bridge that is suitable for Tigers teams at all levels and age-groups.
