Thursday evening saw our senior players make the short journey to Belmangate to take on a sharp and youthful Guisborough side, high in confidence following their exceptional league campaign last year that saw them only defeated once.
As would be expected at this stage of preseason, there was a bit of rust from both sides in their play but no lack of effort. The big difference between the two sides was the defence of Middlesbrough which, despite Guisborough having the large proportion of possession, held strong throughout and improved as the game progressed.
The Middlesbrough tries came from Homan, Aedan Moloney, Hoare and a brace from Sean Moloney with two conversions added.
Well done to all of the lads involved in what was an entertaining game played in great spirit throughout.
