Monday saw the U13's travel to Barrow for the final of the Southern section of the County Cup. Batting first we got off to a cautious start with some good bowling from the Barrow openers. We lost the 1st wicket of Oscar in the 8th over. That brought Josh to the crease and he and Oliver upped the scoring rate hitting the bad ball and taking some well run quick singles. After both scoring in the late 30's they were both out in successive balls trying to up the run rate in the latter overs. That brought Reuben and Braith in to bat, they batted well, again punishing the bad ball. They managed to get the team to a very competitive 120 in our 20 overs.
When Barrow came in to bat Josh and Reuben opened the bowling. Josh being far too quick for the Barrow openers and Reuben bowling a great line. Josh finished with 1 wicket and Reuben with 4. Cody and Madison were next to bowl and did really well restricting the flow of runs. Maddox and Lucas were up next, Maddox getting a wicket and Lucas getting 2 wickets with the last 2 balls in his 1st over, leaving him a very nervous wait to see if he got chance for his first hatrick. He got his chance and thanks to the second great catch of the night from Braith behind the stumps he completed his hatrick to wrap up the game. Winning easily bowling Barrow out for 47.
The whole team played their part with some great fielding from Eli and Charlie.
