The 1st team had a convincing win over Furness Cavaliers 2-1 to complete the double over them goals from Elliot Bousefield(above) and Ryan Close(below)
Furness had the better of the first half exchanges and on 20 mins Mathew Hargreaves cut across the six yard box to neatly side foot into the net giving Ric Carter in goal no chance. On 35 mins Carter pulled off a fine save in the top corner to keep is side in the game.
It was to be a different story in the second half as Corinthians pressed forward creating a few openings without any joy in front of goal. Ryan Close came closest on 60min but saw his effort agonisingly just miss the post.
Richard Sandham came on for Sam Kelly after 65mins and Elliot Bousfield moved from right back to right wing in a tactical move by manager Richard Close that paid dividends.Sandham was immediately amoungst the action creating several chances and with 10 mins left to play Man of the Match Elliot Bousefield was rewarded for his efforts with a goal cutting in from the right to chip in off the far post. Ryan Close who also worked hard was also rewarded with a goal following good work by Richard Sandham.
A great fightback in the second half gave the 1st team their 2nd double of the season.
Congratulations to all that took part into today's victory.
