NEW MANAGEMENT AT THE HEIGHTS

M.U.F.C Webmaster15 May 2013 - 22:22

New First Team Management at The Heights after the resignation of 2012/13 season's management team...

Milton United FC First Team Management of Steve MacMahon, Mick Hickey and Joe Hughes have resigned due to work and personal commitments. Milton United FC wishes Steve, Mick and Joe all the best for the future and would like to pass on our gratitude for all their work at the club.

Following the clubs intention to appoint and support local talent Milton United FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Bedwell as our First Team Manager. Paul has had an illustrious playing career playing cumulating at Southern League Level for Didcot Town and Hungerford before moving into Management. Even in his relatively short management career he has had success and now together with his experienced assistant Marcus Brown he is taking on the Milton United FC First Team position. Paul will be promoting and investing his energies into local players and will combine with experienced hands to take the Club, the First Team and his Management career forward. For Season 2013/14 the First Team will be entered into Hellenic League Div 1 East.

Pre- Season Training commences 7 PM Thursday 20th June at ‘The Heights’ - all players welcome.

In addition to our existing North Berks League Reserves Milton are setting up a new U16s Team to compete in the Oxfordshire Invitation League. This Team will be managed by Trevor Briggs and Andy Barrett. Again all new players welcome, training is currently being run at 6.30pm Wednesday evenings.
It has been accepted to have been one of the most difficult of seasons for Clubs with appalling weather and limited funding opportunities. However, through the efforts of a dedicated few the Club has come through and has exceeded our expectations of pre-season financial plans, stability and achievements. I am especially proud of the Clubs efforts in hosting 7 Cup Finals and a veterans Tournament over the last month. When we do things well it is a pleasure to be a part of it all, the Club has justifiably received high praise from all quarters. I hope and want club members to believe we can continue this positive momentum into the season ahead.
For 2013/14 Milton United FC will be entering teams into the Hellenic League, North Berks Football League, Oxfordshire Invitational Youth League and Oxford Mail Boys League. We will be supporting Hellenic League Veterans Teams, Upper Thames Valley League and our Ladies.
Additionally, we will continue to support the English Schools FA and host Vale and County level School representative football.
All of the above, together with our recent appointments gives us cause for a quiet optimism for the season ahead.

Kind Regards
Andy Burchette
CHAIRMAN
Milton United FC
PS
To all club members – no such thing as close season work needs to be done!!!!
