Who can become a Match Official?
Becoming a Match Official is simple; anyone can give it a go, all you need is a keen interest in the game of Rugby League, the ability to learn and the skills to control two teams of passionate Rugby League players!
How do I become a Match Official?
All you need to do is sign up to one of the many Match Officials course taking place across the country. This is a one day course that trains you in the basic laws with video clips of recent matches and practical Match Officials Drills. The course concludes with a video exam on the basics of the game.
How do I get on a course?
Applying for a course is simply, just follow the steps below;

Chose your nearest course being run in your area
Step 2
Download an application form from The RFL Website, complete it and return to the RFL as soon as you can to secure your place on the course.
if you have trouble downloading the relevant application form contact your team manager or contact Huddersfield Refferees Society who will be able to help.
I’ve sat my course, what do I do now?
Once you’ve sat the course you can join your local Match Officials Society in this area that would be the Huddersfield Society. This is an important part of your support and development as a Match Official and ensures that you get the best start as a Match Official in Rugby League.
You will receive information on the day with regard to joining your local Match Officials Society, this information though can also be obtained by contacting your Regional Match Officials Development Officer
