Sid Sales announces the team for Saturday's pre-season friendly against Keighley.
Keighley had a good season last year in North Counties 1 (Yorkshire 1) and were in contention for promotion for much of the season. However, two late defeats by Bradford Salem and Pocklington dashed their chances of finishing in the top two places allowing Bradford Salem and Wetherby to gain promotion.
Keighley have two more pre-season fixtures; Halifax Vandals (15/8) and Cleckheaton (22/8). Their season opens with 2 home matches on their 3G pitch with Hullensins (7/9) and Bridlington (14/9) being the visitors. We wish them good luck for next season.

Despite trailing league leaders Beverley by over 20 points, Morley opened up a 7 point gap over 3rd placed Cleckheaton when they beat Keighley and Cleckheaton went down at home 12 –16 to Northern.
Both teams won their final games against Sheffield and Wheatley Hills respectively to give 2nd placed Morley the opportunity to play Liverpool St. Helens in the play-off for promotion to level 5.
Keighley were relegated at the end of the season and suffered a further relegation to Yorkshire 2 the following year.
