After Leeds had completed their historic 2015 season, Kirke returned as part of the Rhinos' back room staff as the first team conditioner for the 2016 season and he later went on to be Head of Strength and Conditioning for Yorkshire Carnegie in 2019.

Head coach Sid Sales introduced his squad to Ian Kirke, fitness and conditioning coach for 2024-25 on Tuesday. A large group of players were present and to split the session into manageable parts, Sid did a skills group and Rob Anderson supervised some contact work in rotation with Ian's strenuous strength session.

Tired but a little bit stronger and fitter, the group are better prepared to face the challenges ahead.

Anybody wishing to join the Maroons to play play any level of rugby should turn up before 7.00 pm on Tuesday or Thursday and ask for Sid.
