Sponsorship Opportunities with Narberth Rugby Club

Dear Business Owner and Friend of Narberth Rugby Football Club,

Narberth Rugby Football Club (“Narberth Rugby”) provides a unique opportunity for boys and girls in Lower Merion Township to develop leadership skills and to help them achieve their personal best. Narberth Rugby offers four age appropriate programs; Under 19, Under 15, Under 13, and Under 11, in order to provide opportunities to play the country’s fastest growing sport---rugby. The inclusion of rugby in the 2016 Summer Olympics, the annual Collegiate Rugby Championships and the USA Eagles vs. New Zealand Maori All Blacks game at Philadelphia’s PPL Park this past Fall have all supported this intense growth. Additionally, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and former Governor Ed Rendell have been working to make Philadelphia the east coast home of USA Rugby. Closer to home over the past six years our boys have successfully placed in the top 25% of Rugby Pennsylvania.

In addition to sport, Narberth Rugby Football Club promotes community by providing opportunities for boys and girls to initiate and be involved in volunteer events. In 2012 Narberth Rugby initiated a clothing drive for victims of Hurricane Sandy and we were able to donate 100 bags of clothing, toiletries, and baby related items to evacuated residents of Staten Island, New York. We were extremely proud of our organization and the boys and girls for their efforts in this endeavor, which was recognized by ABC News, the Main Line Times, Representative Jim Gerlach and Rugby Pennsylvania.

Following a very successful 2014 season in which our U19 team reached the PA State Championship finals, we continue to grow in numbers and with this growth comes the need for increased financial support. A large part of our financing comes from player fees ($190), which cover player insurance and individual player equipment. Unfortunately, however, player fees do not cover all of the financial expenses and club needs (see below). In addition, as not all families can afford the player fee, we have a scholarship fund that provides partial support based on need.

In the past our sponsors have included McShea’s Pub and Restaurant, Narberth Pizza, Narberth Athletic Association, Montgomery Chiropractic, and the Army National Guard. This year we would like to add your name to the roster of supporters.

Your sponsorship dollars are used to purchase training equipment, rent training and match fields, provide athletic trainers during matches, underwrite team travel to participate in tournaments outside of our league, and purchase medical equipment. It is also used to support scholarship players who wish to attend rugby camps such as USA Rugby Developmental Camps, The Pennsylvania State University Rugby Camp and LIFE University Rugby Camp.

As a local program we are looking to our friends and local businesses for this support. We have created a sponsorship program, outlined below, and are asking for your specific sponsorship in this program. Narberth Rugby is now a registered Non-Profit Organization and provides this benefit to its sponsors.
