Needham Market defender Keiran Morphew joined up with Ipswich Town's first team squad for training yesterday.
The 22-year-old, who graduated from the Marketmen's academy and has been a regular starter in Mark Morsley's first team in the last few years, is set to play for Ipswich's Under-21s against Nottingham Forest on Monday.
Morphew was due to go on trial at the Sky Bet Championship club early last month, but it was postponed after the defender/midfielder suffered an injury in Needham's 0-0 draw at Lewes on February 6.
After returning to the Marketmen's starting line-up in Saturday's 1-0 win against Merstham, Morphew made a brief cameo off the bench in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Staines Town.
Morphew is expected to be in the Needham squad for tomorrow's Ryman League Premier Division trip to Harrow Borough.
