Nettleham face what could be their toughest challenge so far this season as they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

After topping this league in 2016-17 and gaining promotion, they were relegated from the Northern Division and returned for this season. They've shown their experience over the past weeks, winning every game they’ve played.

Their latest victory was against Redditch-based Kingfisher LFC in last week’s FA Cup round. At home, they beat the West Midlands Regional Women's Football League team 6-0.

They have recently beaten Sporting Khalsa, a team the Netts have also beaten this season. However, the Nettleham 3-2 victory is vastly overshadowed by Wolves’ 10-2 triumph. And while the Netts failed to beat Birmingham and West Midlands twice earlier this season, Wolves came away with a 3-1 win.

With 15 points and a +31 goal difference, Sunday’s hosts sit comfortably at the top of the league. They share those statistics with West Bromwich Albion, a team relegated alongside Wolves last season. Nettleham are currently in fourth place in the league with nine points.

With Nettleham having only won three of five league games and one of two cup games, and Wolves remaining undefeated, recent form would suggest the hosts won’t struggle to take the win on Sunday. However, the Netts will show up in high spirits off the back of their FA Cup round win, and with neither side playing in their usual venue, it’s all to play for.
