Under the floodlights at Mulsanne Park, Nettleham face Long Eaton this Wednesday in their second night game of the season.

Long Eaton have had a fairly average start to the season, winning two of their five league games. Most recently, they lost 4-1 to Birmingham and West Midlands at home. The Netts suffered two 2-1 losses to the Birmingham side in two consecutive weeks earlier this season.

Wednesday’s visitors lost to Sporting Khalsa at the start of the season. They came away from Khalsa’s Aspray Arena with a 3-2 loss. The Netts beat Khalsa with that same scoreline a few weeks later, bringing home three points with their 3-2 win.

The two teams Long Eaton have beaten, Nettleham are yet to play. The Netts’ clashes with Burton Albion and Solihull Moors are set to come later this month. Burton sit around the middle of the table with six points and two games in hand, having won two of their four matches so far. Solihull are tenth out of eleven in the league. They have lost all six of their six games and have a -27 goal difference.

Nettleham will be hoping to take the win this week after their 3-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers. They fought hard and did well to only concede three goals against the league leaders. With Long Eaton in seventh place, three places below the Netts on the table, those three points are well within reach.
