After beating Solihull Moors 2-1 last Sunday, Nettleham return to face West Bromwich Albion (WBA) home at Mulsanne Park.
West Brom have proved tough competition so far this season. Whilst both teams will be entering the game off the back of league wins last week, WBA have the added advantage of being unbeaten in the league this season. Sunday’s visitors beat Sporting Khalsa 3-0 on Sunday. The Netts beat Khalsa 3-2 earlier this season in a hard-fought battle.
WBA’s most notable victory was over Steel City in September. Eight goal scorers contributed to an 18-1 win. The most goals scored by Nettleham was in an effortless 9-0 triumph in the FA Cup third qualifying round last month against Histon. In this FA Cup round, WBA beat Leafield Athletic, a team in the West Midlands Regional league, one league below.
Last month saw Nettleham bow out of the League Cup after a 2-1 loss against Birmingham and West Midlands, a team who now sit fourth in the league. In that same round West Brom lost 3-0 to Burnley, the team now top of the Northern Division.
With Nettleham playing at home and with a mostly-full squad, they’ll put up a fight against the team second in the league.
