For the final game of the season and the last game as Nettleham Ladies, Wolverhampton Wanderers will visit Mulsanne Park on Sunday.

The last time the two teams met, Wolves took the three points with a 3-0 victory. At the time, they were top of the table and 3-0 was one of their lowest goal differences of the season. They are now second in the league, nine points behind first place West Bromwich Albion.

Wolves have been on top form for their past couple of games, with two home victories: a 9-1 win against Bedworth and 11-0 against Steel City, who sit bottom of the table. Sunday’s visitors have also had a recent 1-0 away victory against Long Eaton.

Recently, Nettleham have faced a 2-1 defeat against Bedworth at Mulsanne Park, and a 2-0 victory over Steel City and 0-0 draw against Long Eaton away from home.

Seven of Wolves’ 15 wins and eight goals conceded have been away from home. Four of Nettleham’s nine wins and 18 goals conceded have been at Mulsanne Park.

Based on form, it would seem that Wolves are favourites to take the victory on Sunday. However, with Nettleham in high spirits after last game’s County Cup Final win, they stand a chance of taking points away from this home game.

The three points are necessary to maintain their sixth place position in the league. Close rivals, Long Eaton, will be facing Steel City and there’s a good chance they will come away victorious. Long Eaton sit just two points behind Nettleham and have a greater goal difference, so a draw for the Netts will not be enough for them to hold the position.
