Nettleham face Burton Albion at Mulsanne Park on Sunday.

The last time the teams met, the Netts came away from The Lamb Ground with a 3-2 victory. Two minutes after the first whistle, Nettleham were awarded a penalty and Katy Thornley scored the first goal of the game. Albion increased the pressure as the game went on but it wasn’t enough to take the victory after the Netts scored a further two goals.

Albion currently sit 9th in the league, two places and nine points behind Nettleham. They have not been having the best of seasons, having only accumulated 15 points. Since August, they have only beaten Solihull Moors and Steel City, taking a total of 12 points away from the two teams below Albion in the league. Nettleham have also beaten both teams twice this season.

Last week, Albion lost 4-0 to Sporting Khalsa. This season the Netts have had a 3-2 victory against Khalsa as well as a 3-2 defeat. Albion’s most dramatic loss came against Wolverhampton Wanderers in February. When Wolves came away with a 8-0 home win. When Nettleham travelled to Wolves, they were defeated 3-0.

Albion have only scored 10 goals away from home in their seven games but have conceded 25. The Netts have scored 21 at Mulsanne Park, having conceded 18.

Nettleham will be looking to bounce back from last week’s defeat by taking the three points at home on Sunday.
