With the Neuadd Wen having a stuttering start to the season they are also hit with the news that last years 'players player' has decided to depart from the club and join fellow Aberbargoed side the Buds. We wish Shane all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts for helping the club gain welsh league status last season. Shane has been a major part of the success and chipped in with double figures last season playing both in attack and defence for the club.

On the flip side of that, manager Wayne Antoniazzi has secured what he feels a major signing on the management team with the introduction of Alyn Jones. Alyn previously played for Ton Pentre where he turned out to be a little bit of a legend in his playing days. Alyn and Wayne had spells playing together at Ton as well as Aberbargoed buds. Alyn has also gained valuable experience in management at Aberbargoed Buds working alongside the likes of John Lewis and Craig Evans. He will bring a winning mentality to the club and hopefully play a key roll in sustaining welsh league football for the club this season.
