New Brighton Villa Football Club are sad to announce that assistant manager Pete Morris has accepted an offer to join former manager Dave Roberts' management team at Brymbo Football Club.
Pete has enjoyed a large amount of his playing time at the club and, despite spells away at other local clubs, he would describe New Brighton Villa as his home. The versatile and experienced defender rejoined the club in 2017 after a spell as both Rhydymwyn player and manager during the previous season. He joined Dave's coaching staff as first team player/coach in January 2018 before 'hanging up his playing boots' after rifling home a free kick (that did not hit the wall for once) against Maesgwyn in the last game of that season. He played a big part in our cup final journey that season and has been an integral member of the management team ever since. Much like Dave, his passion, dedication and commitment has been greatly appreciated by all at the club and he will be sorely missed.
As well as his playing and coaching commitments, Pete has helped the club with securing sponsorship and support over the last few years. We'd also like to thank his brother Andy Morris (RLA Capital) and his fiancé Sam Hird (Hair by Samantha) for their much needed support during this period.
We wish Pete well on his new venture at Brymbo FC and all the best for next season.
