Silverware for New Cross!

New Cross travelled to Plymstock knowing they would have their work cut out having been beaten by Plymstock both home and away this season.
And Plymstock scored the first points, Steve Nimmo converting a penalty very early on in the game.
Within 10minutes though New Cross were level, a Ryan Wotton penalty levelling the scores.
And from there on in New Cross never looked back, tries from Louis Griffiths, Luke Williams and Dayne Layton and two conversions from Wotton put New Cross on course for their win.
Luke Smiths box kicking from scrum half kept Plymstock under constant pressure, and although Nimmo landed another penalty before half time, New Cross always looked in control.
There was a scare just before half time when Player Coach Nick Halse, who was having a fine game, went off for treatment to a back injury.
At the turn round it was advantage New Cross and they knew they had the elements in their favour.
The Newcross pack also gained the upper hand, and Kyle McManus throwing in at the line out was spot on.
Another Wotton penalty stretched New Cross’s lead before another try for Griffiths which was converted by Wotton seemed to put this final tie out of reach for Plymstock.
However with New Cross relaxing two tries from Nimmo gave them brief hope , before a second try for Layton converted by Mike Clark destined the silverware to New Cross.
