New Earswick All Blacks crashed to their first defeat with out scoring in two years after being beaten 32-0 at West Leeds Eagles.
A strange afternoon of driving hail and snow, a ten minute intermission in the first half due to weather plus a quickly deteriorating pitch would be the All Blacks down fall.
It seemed to be more a case of handing them the game than being outplayed, completing just one set to the last tackle in the entire game, handling errors and knock ons were the order of the day.
“Take nothing away from West Leeds. They had a game plan and were used to their pitch. We like to play a quick expansive game and that was not possible to do today. We should have wised up to the conditions sooner than we did. We will be looking forward to them coming to White Rose Avenue to return the great hospitality.”
