We are very sorry and saddened to report the passing of former Newent player Nick Matthews last week. Nick played at hooker for the club in the late 1980's and early 1990’s with brother Darren and was a great supporter of the club.

He was a regular at home matches, which he used to watch with son Ben, also a Newent player.

A real gentleman, we shall miss him.
