Touch Rugby League

Steve Davis4 Apr 2012 - 09:16

Touch Rugby Details From Press Release

A new Touch Rugby League will take place in East London this year at Memorial Park which will give all the wannabe participants of Rugby to display their Rugby brain without their Rugby brawn as tackles are replaced by touching the opponent.

The competition is an 18+ adults social league for mixed gender teams. Squads must include a minimum of eight players and teams must have one female on the pitch at all times. The league begins on Tuesday May 15th and will be run during the evening for eight weeks, culminating in a final.

East London Community Manager Steve Davis said “Touch is a great social activity with a little bit of competition thrown in as well. The league will take place after working hours at Memorial Park which has great public transport connections with West Ham tube so close. We decided to make the competition for teams of mixed gender because we know there are some very skilful female sportspeople out there playing sports with similar skills like netball and hockey who will show the fellas a thing or two”.
