The Tidewater area is inextricably linked with United States Military, and many of our past and present players have served this country in her armed forces. In an attempt to give back to the community, the Newport News Rugby Football Club sponsored three all-day rugby events to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a group dedicated:

To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members.
To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

We at the NNRFC believe in these goals, and are proud to help support the soldiers who support us.

Newport News managed to win the day over Marine teams from Cherry Point/Camp LeJeune and Quantico in the last tournament, but the real winner was the WWP with over $8000 raised to support this worthy cause.
