Morris Cook Developments - Managers Report

Top but not complacent

Rangers manager Glenn Botterill has provided some thoughts to the weekends result and a look forward to this weekends game.

"I was really pleased with the performance of the lads on Saturday against Bugbrooke. We got off to a fantastic start with a great strike from Lingy. Unfortunately we conceded very quickly afterwards.

We knew that their pace would trouble most teams. They used this to hit to hit the front early, as the game progressed I felt that we dealt with this threat quite well.

Fozzy's free kick from 30 yards did not really come as a surprise for me, although maybe to others. Even at 2.1 I felt that we controlled the game quite well, although in the back of our minds we was concerned that they could catch us on the break.

Fortunately Super Stevie Blackwood topped off a great personal performance by scoring and putting the game beyond doubt.

Overall it was an accomplished performance against a side who had not lost in the league this season.

We are really looking forward to this weekends game against Blisworth. The NFA Junior Cup is certainly a cup that we are taking very seriously. I would obviously like us to go as far as we can in the competition.

One thing is for sure, we will not be taking Blisworth lightly. Any team who are top of their league deserves to be treated with the utmost respect. We will prepare correctly, we need to be at our best to progress."
