In the midst of our Chairman’s and the clubs success’s over the 2014 cricket there was another, somewhat quieter contribution to cricket recognised when our Club President Ian Chappell received an OSCA as a Lifetime Achiever for his work at North Leeds the Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League and the Yorkshire Cricket Board in August. This followed his retirement from the Yorkshire Cricket Board.

This highlights Ian’s contribution to cricket all over the County . His own bench at North Leeds is inscribed from ‘tin boy to president ‘ which sums up a range of positions he has held at the club . Many will remember him as a club secretary in years gone by, others may have played in teams with him when he came out to bat in the old NLCC hooped cap.
Ian wrote the North Leeds book for the clubs centenary and is presently updating the book for a future publishing date. He is also updating the clubs records so that they can be accessed electronically. See link below.
A contribution to the cricket club over many years to be celebrated by all and not to be lost in the clubs other achievements this year .
Many congratulations to Ian for the recognition he received this year for his life in cricket
